Don’t be ignorant of spiritual things – a loud message from the Bible.
Christian’s have a leg up on God simply because Christian’s are part of the Almighty. That’s right –
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
— John 3:6
This is a very important Truth that Christian’s must come to terms with – they have the potential to know God. To know Who God is, Who God says You are and to really understand God’s written Word and the glory of it.
Ah, what goodness. But potential.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
— John 3:8
It’s kind of funny thinking about these verses when entering into conversations with non Christians. These verses really do shed light on some of the converstations that are had – like why can’t I get through to this person. Cause they are blind and can’t hear you:
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
— 1 Corinthians 2:14
Now, this is nothing against non Christians or anything like that. Maybe more of an observation than anything.
I like seeing God’s perspective on things like this – it’s not that people don’t believe God because they see how good He is and still choose not to (although, maybe that is true some of the time). There’s more to it.
There’s always something deeper, some other root cause. And that’s exciting. Because we Christians get to know God.
And then we get to share Him.
